Dr. Feinstein has unique experience combining careers in the Federal Government, industry, and academia as well as a serial entrepreneur and founder of a nonprofit organization called Planet Startup organized to teach young adults in marginalized and high poverty areas in many locations in Africa, Brazil, the US and other regions to start their own Internet companies and reach world markets as well as connecting them with partners, investors, and mentors – see www.PlanetStartup.org and
organization recognized as a top nonprofit for 2017.

Recently, Dr. Feinstein briefed a large group of students in Nigeria who were attending the YALI Program (Young African Leaders Initiative) in starting their own Internet companies, international trade, and banking which was sponsored by the US Department of State. The idea is that he believes that talent and initiative are distributed equally over the planet; however, opportunity, technology, as well as access to capital and world markets are not – and that is what Planet Startup is designed to help fix.

More specifically, he served in key positions with firms such as Booz, Allen and Hamilton, Stanford Research Institute of Stanford University, MITRE (formerly MIT Research & Engineering), and The Institute for Professional Education where he led consulting assignments and educational programs for Fortune 100 companies such as Proctor & Gamble, IBM, AT&T, Coca-Cola, JP Morgan Chase, DOW Chemical, DuPont, Johnson & Johnson, Walt Disney, Goldman Sachs, Philip Morris and many others. In addition, he held high-level government positions and consultations with the US Environmental Protection Agency, The US Army, Air Force, and Navy developing technology for the US government including global telecommunications networks, intercontinental ballistic missile defense systems, and the Airborne Warning and Control System as well as leading major technology initiatives for foreign governments such as Singapore, the United Kingdom, in Africa, and others. Later he served in leadership positions with educational institutions such as the George Washington University as a Professor and Program Chair, Harvard as a Visiting Fellow, and other institutions such as Strayer University in Maryland as Dean where he championed many innovative educational innovations – – – one of which is Planet Startup that was initiated at Harvard and the George Washington University, and taught at Strayer University in Maryland as well as others where students were making money before the term was over. Dr. Feinstein teaches university courses in Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Networking, Emerging Technologies, Database Management, and Physics in both Business and Engineering Schools, and has helped many of his students start their own companies, and worked with a venture capital firm where new technology companies were funded.

Dr. Feinstein has chaired and participated in many international conferences, written and presented over a hundred papers, book chapters, led international seminars in economics and technology, as well as chairing meetings for the National Science Foundation, and was selected as the guest speaker for the National Science Foundation’s Annual Leadership Retreat as well as teaching courses around the world
in diverse locations such as Brazil, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Togo, Benin, and others. He is involved with establishing an international conference linking those starting businesses and the issues of trade, technology, and banking among a network of universities across, Africa, China, Brazil, the US, and other nations – – – including the students and professors from those universities. He was associated with the Stanford University and had extensive collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Google, AOL, and other high technology firms in the US. Dr. Feinstein is a long-standing member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) a prestigious international engineering
organization where he has chaired international conferences, authored proceedings, written papers and chapters in books, and is working with that organization to help sponsor student chapters and international conferences in West and Central African Universities.
